More Procreate Sketches

I've really fallen off of even trying to do "completed", full pictures in favor of just doing rough sketches when the mood takes me. It's good in some respects in that it does get me to draw more. But I haven't really been "applying" that to a more full-effort artwork. Oh, well. Every little bit counts, I guess.

Also, this is the third time I've done a sketch with a lady at rest with an animal in the image. I wonder if this is a new theme.

Happy Turkey Day!

Funny part is, my hand is too big for the tablet screen, so this isn't even a proper outline of my own hand! :S

Messy! This was done with a "charcoal type" carbon sketch pencil, which is a very dusty implement! Really gotta watch where I rest my hands drawing with this stuff. Probably not actually meant for a sketchpad. Also tried using a kneaded eraser, which seems to me like its meant more for a smudging effect than actual full erasing (although that could just be because of the pencil I was using). Experimenting with analogue is it's own adventure!

Anyway, this is a ruff (haha, see what I did there) sketch of my dog on his dog bed. The environment does not reflect the actual room, nor does this particularly resemble him all that well.

Snow the Gear Wolf

 

Snow first appears in my self-flagellating, self-insert web fiction SalQuest, where she is an "original character" even within the context of Salvador Roberts ending up in a world cobbled together form his own ideas. Which is to say she is a combination of concepts Salvador never thought of prior to ending up in the Endless Frontier.

Snow is a white wolf of the Annextrian Wolf Clan, Annextria being a world of animals with human-like intellect and lifespan, and the ability to communicate telepathically via "thought-speak". She is also a Gear Mage, enabling her to create and manipulate machines that operate by way of a cartoon logic of mechanics.

She's a character I spontaneously came up with as I write the very chapter she appears in, and she was rather fun. She wasn't intended to be an important character, but SalQuest has thus far been largely an improv-based story, so who knows if she may play a larger support role than initially intended.

I mean, probably not, given how many other characters Sal is going to end up running into, but we'll see.

Cat-Shark

Runan vs the Fallen

The wandering Seeker and swordsman Runan, battles a particularly monstrous rendition of the Fallen. Runan is one of my more interesting characters, a penguin traveling through a world of talking animals, living amongst the remnants of an advanced, lost human civilization. Like all Seekers, he wishes to find a way to contact "the likeness of God", and find answers to his existential questions.
