Haysius Applecorn

Another concept sketch for a random character. I swear, I had a really hilarious name for this girl, but I wasn't able to write it down, and forgot it by the time I was able to draw her! Oh well. Also, I decided at the last minute to give her one of the Scythes, because why not? Makes more sense for a scarecrow than most of my other character ideas!

Rabbits and Scythes

The term "Seventy-Seven Scythes" occurred to me during a semi-recent attempt to brainstorm something. The idea that there is a set of mystical scythes scattered across the multiverse, and various and sundry adventurers may stumble across them. This could be a little bit of lore to slip in why I keep drawing scythe wielders. And who knows, maybe someday I'll write a story about one.

While we're talking ideas, "Lopfollo" is a term I've used a few times to refer to rabbit-people in various stories and settings. This can include both anthro-rabbit types (as seen in the Strange Shades images) as well as the "looks like a human, but with bunny ears and tail" as we see here.

Another Scythe Girl

First drawing using a new tablet, an XP-Pen Artist Pro. Definitely a different experience to using the Intuous I had been using for digital art up till now. Still getting a feel for it. This was originally going to be a specific character, but I opted to go for a slightly different look, so who knows who this is now. :V

Asteroth

Character for a Pathfinder game. Not entirely sold on the color scheme, but I was trying to model him after the Red Poison Dart Frog.

Working in DAZ

In recent years, I have doodled around with 3D art, cobbling together assets in poser programs. The most recent program I have been working in is DAZ 3D. It is an incredibly frustrating program to use, from the sheer cost of all the assets to amount of time it takes to both properly put together and render an image to how hard it cranks your computer to do it's job, but for the most part, you can't argue with the results.

I had intended this to be my blog to show off my hand drawn work, but its been quite a while since I last picked up the pen, and making 3D scenes is an art unto itself, so I'll consider this to count!

I'll also admit up front, most of my 3D work is in the service of my adult content, which I won't be posting here. But in the times I make something Safe For Work, I may as well show it off here, too!

Spectral Deer Reaper

Felt like doing something spooky today.

It's sometimes fun to go in "inverted" canvas, sketching white or bright color lines against a black background.

Scythe Girl

Technically a sketch-original, although mostly this is spin-off design from Swan. Never really had any ideas for her, but I've drawn her a few times. I dunno why, but something about pretty women wielding exotic scythes just looks cool.

Swan with scythe

This is Swan from the Intrepid. Funnily enough, I used to always draw her wielding a scythe, even though she never uses one in story. I just like the visual a lot for some reason.
