Gaia Online Avatars

I never actually used Gaia Online. I mean, I signed up on it, tinkered around on it for a couple days, then dropped it. Like most people, I think the big feature that grabbed my attention was the cool avatars one could make. Unlocking the parts, though, meant engaging on the forums a lot and using their various game features, which got old pretty quick.

Years later, I would stumble upon a free-standing Gaia Avatar Editor program, and decided to tinker around with it.

Old Sprite Comics

Decades ago, I had pretensions to attempt web comics of the sprite variety. I never did more than a one or two-pager thing. Loathe though I am to do anything resembling fan fiction on this blog, this is probably the only half-way decent example from back in the day.

So, I kind of like sprite art, but haven't done much of it myself. I'm also terrible at it. So now I'm gunna scar your vision with it!


So here are Flip, Moth, Moth's space ship, and Moth's portrait from the MothFip game I made with RPG Maker. Remind me to make a gif of these later, so you can see the animation. :P

This is Reimi, a character belonging to a friend of mine.




This is a group shot of the Intrepid hero team. Beowulf, Mythos, Arcana, and Swan appear in the first story. Meteora and Bakuryu were intended to appear and join in later adventures. I made these sprites with the restriction of fitting only within a certain amount of pixels, the way old video games used to. Other than Swan, they all manage to fit.

And lastly, here's some totally random stuff that doesn't tie into anything.

I should really do more of this stuff.
