Gimme Yer Lunch Munny!

Trying a little anime style.

Crotia Sketch

CSP using the Intoxicate Pencil brush set, which I think is my favorite pencil so far. I don't favor most of the downloadable brushes I've tried, but sometimes you can find some pretty good ones.

Mary the Fairy

Drawn an iPad in Procreate. I gotta say, despite having the best stylus experience for a tablet I've tried, drawing on the iPad's a bit rough. The screen is sizeable enough, but smaller than the XP-Pen I've gotten more used to. The Apple Pencil is serviceable as a stylus, but I had to buy one of those rubber sheathes to get a better feeling grip on it.

Also, despite it's many fun brushes, I'm finding Procreate to be a little frustrating. Something about the brush engine makes most of the default drawing pens do this weird "snap back" effect, where in if you make a quick curved line, it will pull the line down, as if the engine thinks you're laying down some kind of thick goo-ink, so its almost like it's trying to force some kind of physics onto how you draw that is unlike any other program I've tried. The pen also occasionally just stops for a second on it's own. I've tweaked settings to try and futz around with it, but it still trips me up. Something I'm sure I'd get used to with more practice.

I would just use Clip Studio Paint, but it's unfortunately subscription only for mobile devices, and while it's not like it's a big charge, I seethe at the thought of having to pay subscription fees. I get why they've gone with that model, but still, for as infrequently as I draw, I know most of those charges would go to waste in my case. Oh, well. I'll figure something out.

Snake + Woman

Mechanical pencil on sketchpad. Lots of erasing. Why doesn't real life come with an undo button?

Also, this is the third time I've done a sketch with a lady at rest with an animal in the image. I wonder if this is a new theme.

Rabbits and Scythes

The term "Seventy-Seven Scythes" occurred to me during a semi-recent attempt to brainstorm something. The idea that there is a set of mystical scythes scattered across the multiverse, and various and sundry adventurers may stumble across them. This could be a little bit of lore to slip in why I keep drawing scythe wielders. And who knows, maybe someday I'll write a story about one.

While we're talking ideas, "Lopfollo" is a term I've used a few times to refer to rabbit-people in various stories and settings. This can include both anthro-rabbit types (as seen in the Strange Shades images) as well as the "looks like a human, but with bunny ears and tail" as we see here.
